Allen has been practicing law for over 40 years and is the founder and managing partner of Kirshenbaum Law Associates. His law practice concentrates in all aspects of family law. Allen has won numerous appeals in the Rhode Island Supreme Court. A number of these appeals have expanded case law on the cutting-edge issues involving pensions and business valuation. He has had a significant impact in the manner in which family law is practiced in the State of Rhode Island. |

Allen has been quoted in Newsweek Magazine, The Providence Journal-Bulletin, the American Bar Association Journal, and the Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly. He has appeared on television and radio programs related to family law issues. Allen is listed by the Martindale-Hubbell Company as one of the preeminent lawyers in the country. He is rated AV, the highest rating given for ability and ethics. Allen has been on the faculty of numerous seminars. He has lectured on Federal Income Taxation at the University of Rhode Island; Tax Aspects of Divorce and Division of Pensions in Divorce for the National Business Institute; and divorce, custody and business valuation issues for the Edward P. Gallogly Rhode Island Family Law Inn of Court and for the Rhode Island Bar Association. He has served as a mentor for the Bar Association to new lawyers in family law and practice. In addition to teaching law, Allen regularly attends continuing legal education courses and seminars. Allen graduated from Clark University and Boston University School of Law. He is authorized to practice law in the State of Rhode Island as well as the United States Federal District Court, the United States Tax Court and the United States Supreme Court. Allen is a member
of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the American Bar Association,
Family Law Section. He is a Master of the Edward P. Gallogly Rhode Island
Family Law Inn of Court and a member of the Rhode Island Bar Foundation.
He has been a very active member of the Family Court Bench/Bar Committee
since its inception. Allen chaired the Bench/Bar subcommittee on revision
of the court's rules of practice and procedure, and chaired the subcommittee
on revision of the Judges' Bench Books. He was a member of the original
committee which designed and implemented the child support formula for
the state of Rhode Island. As an active member of the Rhode Island Bar
Association's Volunteer Lawyer Program in Family Law, Allen received the
Pro Bono Publico Award.

Carolyn has been associated with Kirshenbaum Law Associates since her graduation from law school in 1980. She has been a partner of the firm since1987. Her law practice is concentrated in all aspects of family law. Carolyn is also an experienced appellate attorney, having submitted numerous briefs to the Rhode Island Supreme Court and having argued successfully before that Court. |

Carolyn has been on the faculty of many seminars devoted to family law. She has lectured on domestic relations practice for the Rhode Island Supreme Court Mandatory Clerkship Program, and has been on the faculty of family law practice seminars sponsored by the Rhode Island Bar Association, wherein she has lectured on child custody, placement and visitation. In addition, Carolyn has lectured on divorce taxation, pre-nuptial agreements and asset division upon divorce for the National Business Institute. Carolyn graduated magna cum laude from Bryant College and cum laude from New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. She is authorized to practice law in the State of Rhode Island, including the Federal District Court, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Carolyn has been appointed by the Rhode Island Supreme Court to be a committee member to study specialization and is a member of the Supreme Court's Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. She is an active member of the Rhode Island Bar Association. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Bar Association from 1993 through 1998 and has been a member of the Association's House of Delegates since 1992. From 1991 through 1993, Carolyn chaired the Bar Association's Law Office Management Committee. She was chairperson of the 2007 Annual Meetings Committee. Carolyn is a long-standing participant in the Rhode Island Bar Association's Volunteer Lawyers Program and has received both the Pro Bono Publico Award and the Continuing Service Award recognizing her representation of low-income individuals in need of family law legal services. She has appeared on television addressing issues on domestic violence. In addition to her
work on behalf of the Rhode Island Bar Association, Carolyn is a master
of the Edward P. Gallogly Rhode Island Family Law Inn of Court (former
treasurer and currently serving as vice-president); the Rhode Island Association
for Justice; and the Rhode Island Women's Bar Association.

Evan has been practicing law at Kirshenbaum Law Associates since his graduation from law school in 1994. He has been a partner of the firm since 1999/ His practice of law concentrates in all aspects of family law and personal injury law. Evan is an experienced trial lawyer and has submitted numerous briefs to the Rhode Island Supreme Court. He has argued successfully before juries in the Superior Court as well as in the Rhode Island Supreme Court. |

Evan is authorized to practice law before all the courts in the State of Rhode Island as well as the Federal District Court. Evan graduated from Connecticut College and received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in Boston Massachusetts. Before beginning the private practice of law, Evan completed internships at both the Rhode Island Superior Court and Family Court. He has attended numerous continuing legal education courses and seminars in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Illinois and Tennessee. To provide continuing education for attorneys, paralegals, psychologists, social workers, counselors and guardians ad litem, Evan lectures and provides reference materials in the area of child custody and visitation for the National Business Institute. He has also been a guest lecturer at Brown University. Evan has been served as both Assistant City Solicitor and Deputy City Solicitor for the city of Cranston. He has served on many city and state committees representing the interests of the people of Rhode Island. Evan is a member
of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the Rhode Island Association for
Justice, and the Edward P. Gallogly Rhode Island Family Law Inn of Court.
He is also a member of the Law Practice Management Section of the American
Bar Association. He is a long standing participant in the Volunteer Lawyers
Program in Family Law of the Rhode Island Bar Association.
